OPEN POSITIONS

Multiple postdoctoral positions are currently available in the laboratory of Dr. Dustin Schones at the City of Hope.

We are broadly interested in exploring the interaction of epigenomic and genomic variation in the development of complex diseases such as obesity, diabetes and cancer. We utilize integrative approaches combining computational and experimental approaches to study these problems.

Ongoing projects include: 1) Investigating the environmental stimuli responsible for epigenetic dysregulation of transposable elements and the mechanisms responsible for this, 2) Examining the potential of therapeutic interventions to suppress epigenetic dysregulation of transposons, 3) Investigating the molecular mechanisms whereby metabolic diseases mediate epigenetic modifications across the genome, 4) Examining the causes and consequences of epigenomic variation across populations.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Contribute to existing projects as well as develop related projects.
  • Help prepare manuscripts, grant applications, annual grant reports to NIH, renewals and other relevant documents.
  • Supervise and mentor junior scientists in the lab.
  • Pursue independent fellowships.

A Ph.D. in molecular biology, computational biology or related fields is required.

Interested individuals should send a CV and a list of 3 references to Dr. Dustin Schones.
